The Importance of Input– Typically, when I am working in my studio I can not focus my attention past the pots of encaustic paint, piles of drawings and paper to embed in my work. Everyday I need to set an alarm on my iPod to pull me back into the world to make dinner, go to an appointment and attend to the stuff of life. This past week I was very distracted in my studio and getting cranky. I was craving input. Friday I went to NYC with Lisa Pressman to soak up some Chelsea art. It was not until I was enveloped in Richard Serra’s breathtaking steel sculpture at Gagosian Gallery that I felt my creative soul soothed.
Serra is one of my favorites thank you for not letting me forget it and, before I forget, I am also fan of Donald Judd !
